Salon du Livre

salon-du-livre-2006.png

On the hoofs of the Salon de l'Agriculture comes the Salon du Livre. From 23rd to the 27th, the convention hall at Porte de Versailles will be hosting 137 independent publishers and a smattering of panels on such subjects as adaptations, sin in literature, interior monologue, and esoterica, as well as plenty of youth programming. In the seat of honor: India.

Parisist is willing to forgive the Salon's slogan, 'Reading is Contagious!' for its evocation of beatific book fairs of our youth. Tickets are 5 euro for general admission, free for students and children under twelve. This makes Parisist want to smile and use books as earmuffs.
