The Eiffel Tower IS TOO a wonder of the world

All right. Parisians are obviously not trying hard enough.
At the self-appointed site to choose the seven new wonders of the world (which we've discussed before), the Eiffel Tower is so far only in the middle third of the pack (thanks to Wikio/LCI for the tip).
This is not acceptable.
True, that's better than it could be doing, but this is a marathon, people, not a sprint. The contest isn't over until July 7th, and you know that the Stonehenge fans are going to come on strong at the finish. And don't count out the Sydney Opera House. (Meanwhile, Parisist is going to lodge a complaint about the Pyramids of Giza being included in the competition, as the Great Pyramid was one of the seven ancient wonders and on those grounds should have been disqualified. Harumph.)
Or maybe you feel un petit peu ambivalent about promoting the Eiffel Tower? Perhaps you agree with Guy de Maupassant, who often ate at the restaurant in the tower so he wouldn't have to look at it?
