Today is Journée Mondiale de l'Orgasme [en]
That's right. Journée mondiale de l'orgasme... and it's for world peace, too. This morning, Cityvox tipped us off [fr] that today is the Global Orgasm Day for Peace [fr].
Evidently, a pacifist American couple has declared today (winter solstice) to be that day because they believe that "a high number of positive thoughts related to a quasi simultaneous sexual pleasure can modify the field of energy of the Earth and reduce, consequently, the dangerous levels of current aggression and violence."
Ou en français, "un nombre élevé de pensées positives liées à un plaisir sexuel quasi simultané peut modifier le champ d'énergie de la Terre et réduire, en conséquence, les niveaux dangereux d'agression et de violence actuelles".
To help support their theory, they have a little flash movie that you can watch, and they refer to the Global Consciousness Project (or the EGG Project) at Princeton, New Jersey, which is studying the "subtle correlations that appear to reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world."
So, if everyone is thinking the same good thought across the globe, maybe it'll be read on the project's sensors, yes? If so, Parisist is sure they'll show the results on the organization's blog. (Hopefully, that's all they show on the blog.)
Well, get busy if you're going to participate in the First Annual Synchronized Global Orgasm for Peace Day! There's a countdown clock on GlobalOrgasm.org [fr] and you've got about 1 hour, 05 minutes, 29 seconds left... 28 seconds... 27... 26...
