Subtitles? We don't need no stinkin' subtitles [en]

Parisist is always jealous that LAist can go to the Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood whenever they want to watch silent movies with live music. Well, on Tuesday and Wednesday, a little bit of historical Hollywood comes to the Cité de la Musique: Two of Charlie Chaplin's films, Modern Times and City Lights, will be shown with a live orchestra playing the scores that Chaplin wrote himself. Though these films were originally released with sound, there is very little in the way of dialogue, and they are essentially the last great silent movies, with the stories told in pantomime.
Yeah, we know, bringing mime to Paris is a case of coals to Newcastle, but we think the Tramp is hyper mignon.
